PSS provides Certification in the Law
Enforcement Assistance Act for
Qualified
Retired
U.S. Secret Service Special Agents
Residing in Virginia
- According to Virginia Department of Criminal Justice policy, the training entity is responsible for issuing
certification cards and the retiree is responsible for meeting the
standards in addition to qualifying as per Commonwealth specifications.
The retired agent must carry the agency retiree document along with
the proof of qualification for coverage.
- We will issue the training certification card upon successful
completion of the certification / recertification requirements.
- You will receive an automatic confirmation upon successful
registration via this procedure. However, if this is your
first certification with us, attendance is contingent upon vetting
of your identity and availability of space. In other words,
you must receive approval to attend. We will email you
verification if this is your first certification with us, or you may
verify with John Desmedt or Keith Stauffer.
- If you register and cannot attend, please notify us as soon as
you determine you will not attend. If you do not show up, you
may have taken a place that someone else could have used. At
certain events, the number of registered agents may justify
procurement of extended range times, so we must ascertain the number
of attendees as accurately as possible. This is not a
for-profit activity, as no fee is required.
- This course also satisfies the training qualification for a
Commonwealth of Virginia concealed weapons permit, which we urge the
retired Agent to acquire.
